Scarlet Tanager

Scarlet Tanager
The first scarlet tanager I've ever seen I saw in the forest of the Virginia Kendall area of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. A shy bird, this tanager kept its distance but kept its eye on the camera. Four so-so shots and it flew deep within the woods not to be seen again this day. Canon Digital Rebel XT: ISO 400, 1/200 sec., f/4.0. July 5, 2009. Photo by James Guilford.
